- Standard compost wormery is ideal for a family of 4

Compost Wormery - Advantages

Wormery - What Can Be Added
Wormery is designed to deal with kitchen-generated organic food waste
Green Material
- Household: Fruit / vegetables scraps, cooked / uncooked scrapes, eggshells,
- Tea bags & coffee grounds, peelings, bread
- Garden: Odd handful of leaves, grass or similar garden waster
Brown Material
- Household: Dampened egg boxes, Kitchen paper towel, crumpled single sheets of newspaper
Do not Include
- Glossy magazines
- Onions, leeks or citrus (They make wormery too acidic)
Wormery - Advice
- Sit wormery is safe location
- Out of direct sun
- Settled from frost in the winter
- Only add a handful of food waste in the first week (worms take a little time to settle)
- After a week check how much food has been digested
- Apart colder weather the worms should be active
- Worms rely on food decomposing slightly
- For the first 2-3 weeks only add 3 - 4 handful of kitchen waste a week
- Increase over time thereafter
- Wormery will be then able to deal with waste from a family of 4
- Once your first tray is full, place anther empty tray on top
- Start adding your food waste to this tray
- Worms will follow the food up into the next tray
- Then you do the same again with your third tray
- By the time your third tray is full your bottom tray should contain compost ready to harvest
- Drain liquid by using the tap (dilute 1 part liquid with 10 parts water)

- Delivery is to kerbside only

- Also, we cannot guarantee delivery on a specific day (Please allow 1-3 days for delivery)
- It's always best to order well in advance to avoid disappointment
- Cancellation of pallets when items are already in transit will incur a 40 euro per pallet cancellation fee (To cover return delivery costs)
