This course is ideal for students with an interest in the environment and living a greener, more sustainable life. Its practical, hands on approach means it is appealing also to LCA students.
Module #1 Eco Warrior: Steps to a Greener Life Classroom (45 Minutes)
- This module covers global warming and biodiversity loss, along with possible solutions and the likely time frame to implement them. We visit our SOLAS chickens and learn about the magic of composting
Module #2 Eco Warrior: Steps to a Greener Life - In the Greenhouse (45 Minutes)
- This element of the course will be spent with a team of horticulturists where students will learn all about biodiversity and our native trees along with how to identify them.They will get their hands into the soil and gain experience in both planting and and how to care for their herb, flower, vegetable or shrub.
Module #3 Eco Warrior: Steps to a Greener Life - Food waste and recycling (45 Minutes)
- Students learn how to reduce food waste in their daily lives as well as learning about recycling through a series of interactive games and quizzes
Lunch (45 Minutes)
- Finish with Lunch in the SOLAS Food Court with pizza for students and a choice from menu for school teachers included as part of the course package

- Cost: Course costs from €20 per student depending on Group size
Format of the Day
- See below typical timetable for the running of courses depending on whether students are attending 1 or 2 courses in a single day. Note we are flexible on start and finish times and can start courses from 8.30am on wards to suit bus pickup times.
- Single Course: Arrive 10:50am, Course 11-1.15pm, Lunch, Depart 2.00pm
- 2 Courses: Arrive 9am, Course #1 9-11.15am, Lunch, Course #2 12-2.15pm, Depart
