Field Maple Tree - Characteristics
- Medium sized deciduous tree
- Foliage: Deep green, oblong leaves, bluntly lobed
- Foliage turns yellow & red in Autumn
- Habit: Spreading, dome spaced canopy
- Bark: Fissures & flaky
- Mature size: 20m tall
- Deciduous tree, they lose their leaves in Winter
- Prefers a moist, alkaline soil
- Growth rate: Slow
- Very hardy tree

Field Maple Tree - Planting Instructions
Planting Time
- The traditional planting season is between September & April
- Avoid frosty conditions, where the ground is frozen
Positioning Trees
- Position in sun or partial shade
- Soil: Fertile soil with good drainage
- pH: Prefers alkaline soils
- When planting, hold plants at ground level & back fill the top soil
- Ensure each plant is straight & soil is compacted in around it's root ball
- Level off the soil around the plants
- Support with bamboo cane for first 2 years
- Replace cane with larger stake when required
After Care
- Water before & after planting
- Weeding is also essential, especially bind weed which can quickly smoother a young tree
- Keep grass growth away from the base of trees to ensure a faster growth rate
- Avoid strimming around the base of trees

- Bulk bags & large orders are shipped via pallet couriers on a rigid lorry
- Delivery is to kerbside only

- Also, we cannot guarantee delivery on a specific day (Please allow 1-3 days for delivery)
- It's always best to order well in advance to avoid disappointment
- Cancellation of pallets when items are already in transit will incur a 40 euro per pallet cancellation fee (To cover return delivery costs)
