Holly Plant - Characteristics
- Mature Size: 12 - 15m
- Evergreen plant which retains it's foliage in Winter
- A hardy plant, able for cold Winters
- Shinny, glossy leaves with spiny edges
- Reddish bark with deep contours
- Undulated leaf margin
- Female holly plants: Red berries appear in Autumn

- Can be grown as a specimen plant
- Or sow as a hedge
- Works great when planted in a native hedgerow
- Plant with whitethorn, blackthorn & hazel
- Use holly to provide evergreen colour to hedgerows
- Spinney foliage makes for a good boundary plant

Holly - Facts
- Holly is native to Ireland
- Commonly found in woodlands & hedgerows
- While berries help get wild birds through the Winter, they are poisonous to humans
- Because of Hollies evergreen leaves & it's ability to survive the harshest of Winters, it was considered sacred in ancient times

Glas Scheme - Planting New Hedging
- Requirements
- You can plant Blackthorn, Whitethorn or Holly
- You must plant 6 plants per metre
- Hedging needs to be fenced on both sides
- You can not plant along a neighbours perimeter as access to both sides of hedge is required
- Dead plants must be replaced
- Weeds must be controlled
- Plants must be purchased from a registered grower or supplier (Including ourselves)
- Rates of Payment
- €5 per metre of hedging planted per year for 5 years
- Minimum length of Hedge: 10m
- Maximum length of hedge: 200m
- We can supply your EC plant passport when you order your hedging from us
- Keep this passport reference number for your reps
Note: We don't ship plants on Fridays due to the extended period they would remain without light & water

- Bulk bags & large orders are shipped via pallet couriers on a rigid lorry
- Delivery is to kerbside only
- If road access to your site is tight, then please advise us before purchasing
- Please Note: We cannot guarantee next day delivery on pallet deliveries
- Also, we cannot guarantee delivery on a specific day (Please allow 1-3 days for delivery)
- It's always best to order well in advance to avoid disappointment
- Cancellation of pallets when items are already in transit will incur a 40 euro per pallet cancellation fee (To cover return delivery costs)
- Where pallet delivery can not be made due to site access, a 40 euro per pallet cancellation fee will apply (To cover return delivery costs)

- The shipping fee is fixed for an order, regardless of the number of items bought
