Why Aerate the Soil in Your Lawn
- To improve the drainabilty of your soil
- To increase air flow in your soil

What is a Hollow Tine Aerator
- This is a tool which allows you to manually aerate your soil
- It works by removing soil plugs from your lawn
- This creates air holes allowing for better soil aeration
How to Use a Hollow Tine Aerator
- Place the aerator in front of you
- Push tines down into the soil as far as they will go
- They should go at least 6 inches into the soil
- Lift the tine back out
- Move 1ft forward & repeat the process
- Continue this is straight lines along your lawn
- Once you come to the end of your lawn move 1ft to the side & begin another line
After Care
- Once finished you can remove the plugs from the lawn
- This work should be done along with other lawn care practices including
- Scarification
- Top dressing
- Moss killing
- Feeding
- Weeding
