Sowing Instructions
- Sowing time: Sow mid spring under glass or in May for planting outdoors
- Sowing location: Indoors in 9cm pots or in a heated propagator set to 21°C
- Sow 3 seeds per pot using potting compost
- Soak compost before sowing, press seeds lightly into the soil & cover the seeds
- Grow with cucumbers as these require the same heat, humidity & water levels
How to Transplant
- Transplant once they outgrow their pot into large pots (30cm)
- Position in a sunny location in your greenhouse
- Can be transplanted into large pots in the green house soil or 3 per grow bag
- Soil: Aubergines require moist & rich fertile soil
- Position 35cm apart
Crop Maintenance
- Keep plants moist at all times
- Maintain a high humidity in the greenhouse
- This can be done by pouring water on the greenhouse floor in summer
- Plants should be supported with canes or tomato spirals
- Plants respond well to a liquid feed after transplanting
Harvest
- Aubergines can be harvested 16-20 weeks after germination
