Plum Tree - Characteristics
- Victoria plum tree is classic plum variety
- Self fertile, no other tree required to pollinate this plum tree
- Fruits: Pale Red fruit with Golden-Yellow Flesh
- High yields of Juicy & tasty plums
- Final Height: 2.5 - 4 metres
- Flowering: Flowers appear in late Spring
- Prone to silver leaf & bacterial canker
- Also fruits can be affected by blossom wilt & brown rot
Quince A Rootstock - Advantages
- Most common rootstock
- Prevents trees from getting too large

Plum Tree - Planting Instructions
Planting Time
- Trees should be planted as soon as they arrive
- Bare root stock is available from October to March
- Avoid freezing conditions, where the ground is frozen
Positioning Trees
- Position in a sunny & sheltered spot
- Avoid frosty locations, protect from early Spring frost
- Mix in well rotted manure at time of planting
- Stake trees to prevent rocking & ensure quick establishment
- Water in after planting
- Handle plants with care when planting
- Ensure roots are spread out & all are planted below soil level
Orchard Planting
- Needs a sunny spot
- South or west facing slope or site is best
- Ideally plant close to a wall for added shelter
- Plan your orchard along a north - south axis
- Rootstock will determine spacing (Quince A rootstock = 3m apart)
- Stake trees prior to planting
After Care
- Soak roots for 10 minutes before planting
- Water again after planting
- If dry weather persists, water every 2 days
- Feed in early Spring
- Weeding is also essential, especially bind weed which can quickly smoother a young tree
- After 2 years, check the tree stakes to ensure they are not too tight around the tree
Pruning
- Only prune a little to avoid silver leaf fungal disease
- Prune after harvest
- Remove all dead, dying & diseased branches
- Then remove any inward growing branches
- Thin canopy to increase light & air flow

- Bulk bags & large orders are shipped via pallet couriers on a rigid lorry
- Delivery is to kerbside only
- If road access to your site is tight, then please advise us before purchasing

- Also, we cannot guarantee delivery on a specific day (Please allow 1-3 days for delivery)
- It's always best to order well in advance to avoid disappointment
- Cancellation of pallets when items are already in transit will incur a 40 euro per pallet cancellation fee (To cover return delivery costs)
